My name is Nneka Robinson, I am 16 years old. I am a budding author of children's stories. Writing is one way that I express myself. My mother always told me: "The more you write, the better you'll become at it." I do believe that now! But…not because she said it. It's because, now, I am living my writer's dream. Now…I write eStories for children; I love it more than anything. Really…next to Pissy.

One of the reasons I chose to write children's stories comes from my childhood. There were many unique childhood stories in my life. My stories are a fragment of some of those experiences. My stories as a child were great, but truthfully, I spent most of my time with music and reading.

Pissy was inspired by my new mom, Loretta. Pissy is my Pomeranian that has a blue tint to her coat. She's always pissin' somewhere, everywhere; she just squats and does her pissy thing. But…we, also, named her Pissy in memory of my new mom"s sister, Rita. She wrote the book, "P I S S Y". That's whole 'nother story.

Turtle in My Pocket was also inspired by my new mom, Loretta. She heard me say something about taking my turtle Tizzy to school. She just became so smitten with my story and encouraged me to write about that childhood pet of mine.

Well…"2nd Grade Scaredy Cat" story really moved me to put it all together (my writing). Who would ever know that being afraid in the second grade would have me writing a story years later? (Smile.)

I really have a lot of stories to tell - this one is just about an old lady, down the street from where my father lived - as a kid. This old baker-of-good-things-eat-for-good-reasons type of old lady. She could really bake and my dad can still remember her and what she did for the neighborhood. Cinnamon Mommy is like sitting in front of the fireplace listening to your granddad while drinking a glass of milk with one Cinnamon Mommy's treats.

As an eStoryteller, I encourage young people and old people alike (like my 50 year old daddy) to write about childhood experiences. Write about those experiences that have brought you laughter. Hundreds more can laugh with you when you create an eStory. And...don't forget the old folks have lots of stories, too!

If you want to post your estories on our family of writers' website, we assist:

  • you with copyrighting your material
  • posting your eStory
  • in creating a personal writer's blog linked to your eStory posting
And...making sure you receive all the monies your eStories receive. How exciting! A website that will receive your eStories and help you make money. What a way to start collge or buy that $500 iPod or PlayStation. Just ask me all the questions you were afraid to ask about earning money for the things you want. Do it right here on:
